She is currently working on her documentary called “The Word Is Out — The Introduction 2 Still Got The Juice” as well as an animated series called “One Cruel Summer “(Mason’s City). Antoinette remains humble, thankful, and focused on bringing forth these projects to an audience on a major network.
Tammy: As a woman in the film industry, when you first began to pursue your career, what impact did you intend to make?
Antoinette: Great question! When creating my very first project, “Still Got The Juice,” I wanted for the world to see themselves, feel themselves, and get to know themselves again through my characters or my words. When we go to work, to school, or out on the town, we see a diverse world.
No matter the color of our skin, we all know how it feels to be happy, and we all know how it feels to experience pain that’s difficult to speak on. That’s the impact I still want to have on my audience.
Tammy: Do you prefer screenwriting over being a director of photography or both?
Antoinette: Both.
Tammy: Why?
Antoinette: For me, I enjoy doing both. I love the art form that goes into creating the story and then making it come to life by strategically creating a visual that POPS!
Tammy: What type of film genres have you tapped into?
Antoinette: Let’s see.. Horror, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Drama, Sports, and Action.
Tammy: What are some of your proudest accomplishments so far?
Antoinette: My proudest moment is winning 64 awards globally combined with all four projects in six months.
Tammy: What are you currently working on?
Antoinette: I am currently writing more episodes for the series “7 Evils,” and a Documentary called “The Word is Out (The Introduction 2 “Still Got The Juice”) as well as an animated film called “One Cruel Summer” (Mason’s City).
Tammy: What is the last movie you watched that really moved you?
Antoinette: Kevin Hart’s “Fatherhood,” I think it’s important to show a father in a vulnerable state. A father that does everything he can to make sure his daughter is raised well and still around her family even though the mother passed away. It’s an excellent movie.
Tammy: What are you looking forward to for women in the film industry?
Antoinette: To be who they are. Unique, beautiful, and talented. No matter how many filmmakers come into the industry, each one has something that will make them stand out from the rest.
Tammy: What do you want your filmmaking legacy to look like?
Antoinette: A moment in time that you always want to go back to.
