SheNesia (Nesi) Ewing is an award-winning and certified transformation life coach, international speaker, and author. This wife and mother holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Masters in Sports & Health Science, and she is currently working on her Applied Doctoral Project for her Doctorate in Psychology. Life Coach Nesi started UncoveringtheNewU, LLC in 2010 and completed life coaching school in June 2016.
As a life coach, Nesi envisioned herself teaching women how to transition into their desired transformation through changing their perspective of how they see, react, and resolve the challenges of life. She reveals why it is important to have dreams, as they open the door for POSSIBILITY and creates OPTIONS. Ultimately she shows them how to BE, transition them into BEING, and they learn how to BECOME the best version of themselves. Get motivated and moving by SheNesia’s story below.
Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes SheNesia, SheNesia?
SheNesia: SheNesia has always been unique and driven. My attitude towards life and what it has to offer has allowed me to see that there’s more to it than the hurt I experienced and the hurt I saw others experience. I believed in POSSIBILITY, which created options for my life and doors began to open. My personality is of kindness every day from the time I wake up and the time I sleep. I don’t believe in competition; I believe in collaboration and learning from everyone. I thrive off what I do and the ability to change lives as a life coach. I am one to stay in my own lane until I am signaled to move over into others. I am not the flamboyant type, so I am a reserved individual who prefers to be alone (small intimate settings) over larger crowds. My drive and determination to succeed is never-ending. I don’t accept “no†as the final answer. I have a heart of gold and want to see everyone WIN.
Fancy: At what point did you discover that part of your purpose was to coach others pursuing their dreams?
SheNesia: When I began to see more women like me going through similar situations. I began to see more women become single mothers; I saw more women were beaten down through the labels of what society says they should be or would not be able to become. I saw more women losing themselves in the midst of relationships. I saw more women believing that life was over just because they were now mothers.
Fancy: Would you say the importance of mindset was instilled in you by family and your environment as you were growing up?
SheNesia: I would have to say yes it was. With my father being in the military, thinking of the “how†in life was something was kind of a must. “Figure how to make it workâ€, “figure out how to get it rightâ€â€¦ My mother, as well, used to fuss at my brother and me when we would come home complaining about someone talking about us, and she would say, “Do they feed U or clothe U? If they aren’t taking care of U, then why do they matter?â€
Fancy: I know everyone’s transformation does not look the same, but what did transformation look like for you?
SheNesia: My transformation was God stripping me of everything. I lost my car, my job, my apartment, went through alcoholism, faced depression head on, and losing myself. I had to see that God was trying to force me to understand that the strength that I needed was already inside of me. He made me understand that I was a package that had not been opened, and I was trying to get others to do it for me. The contents inside of me were made for me to see and use for what he called me to do in this world. So when I failed and fell hard, it was all because I was seeking external validation in the things in which I wasn’t called to do.
Fancy: Does your work ever take any effect on your mental well being?
SheNesia: It used to. I was trying to get people to understand the need for transforming, the need to Heal from their past in order for them to have a Healthy present. I had to understand that people have to be READY for change. They have to WANT to change. I HAD to change, because there wasn’t anything left for me to do. I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I did especially if they do not have to.

Fancy: What inspired you to take part in the Crazy Like a Fox Tour?
SheNesia: A fox is a creature who has an active mind who doesn’t intend to hurt others but often does in fear of being hurt. They are creatures who are better left alone when angry, or someone could get hurt. In addition, foxes have qualities of loyalty, passion, and often misunderstood because of their ability to survive in the most mundane ways. The mind is the strongest thing of the fox and often intimidating to those around them. Without making this a science project, I am the fox. When I understood my value, I understood my confidence, which I have been told keeps people away from me. People misunderstand me as I speak my mind in ways which sometimes offends people or comes off cocky when it’s not intended too. I love hard, and when I am hurt, I become the coldest person U could meet (not my best quality but I am honest). I cut people off, before they can get close to me, as a defense mechanism, because I got tired of having to be shy and creep around my own personality. This tour suits me as I had to learn to survive through depression, anxiety, self-sabotage, and the suicide attempt. I went into survival mode in an attempt to save my life, so that I could live for my son. I CHOSE to be successful by making the changes that were required to live the life I wanted instead of letting life make the choice for me.
Fancy: What inspirational nugget would you care to share with our readers?
SheNesia: No matter how hurt, beaten, or bruised U may have been in your past, your value does NOT change. If U want people to respect your value U have to control that and REQUIRE it. If it is something they can’t do, then they aren’t for U. Change Begins with U. U determine how U allow that hurt to add, subtract, multiply, or divide the value U place on YOUR LIFE.
SheNesia will be speaking at the Crazy Like a Fox: Black Mental Health Matters Brunch Tour in Atlanta, May 25th and again in Philadelphia July 14th. RSVP at www.crazylikeafoxtour.com/rsvp. Use code FOXY4 for 15% until May 6th.
