Friday, October 5th, SwagHer Brand Ambassador Tanisha Mackin co-host a birthday bash for Tenisha Taylor Bell at McDonough, GA newest hot spot Smoketacular Cigar Lounge. Tenisha Taylor Bell is the CEO of the Ezekiel Taylor Scholarship Foundation. The Ezekiel Taylor Scholarship Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit foundation that provides scholarships and mentoring to black male students impacted by Chicago violence.
Unfortunately, on April 23, 1982, Tenisha was affected by violence when her father was robbed, kidnapped, shot and killed. The senseless violence in Chicago has grown since 1982. August 2016 was the deadliest month on record for the city of Chicago in 20 years. 90 people were murdered and 472 were shot according to the Ezekiel Taylor Scholarship Foundation website. As of September 2017, there were more than 2,300 shootings, most of them involving African-Americans between the ages of 15-24.
Ezekiel Taylor’s legacy lives through Tenisha. She started this foundation to ensure that young African-American men lead better lives, make good life choices that impact their entire community, and have opportunities for higher education. So let’s celebrate Tenisha Taylor Bell.
