Did you know that one way to overcome overthinking is to practice gratitude?
Why?
Because when we practice gratitude, we are not worrying about what we don’t have but instead focusing on what we do have.
When you look at it from a business perspective, you may ask yourself what assets and resources you have in your arsenal to leverage or assist you in your pursuit to the next level. Meaning whatever you may be afraid to do that you are thinking about nonstop.Â
For me, that thing is how we can hire another team member, a social media coordinator cousin, as I have now named the individual in my head. We need the help terrible because our social media platform is relatively big, and I want it to be tended to properly. Plus, there are so many news updates to share as a media company. I would like for us to improve on that. So I looked at what we had, and that’s magazines, of course.
It hit me that maybe we could figure out another way to sell more magazines, which could help cover the intern. We could then pay the intern a stipend, so we already have so many allotted hours and pay. To make it more of a form of giving back, we could also ensure that the intern attends an HBCU and can provide them with hands-on experience and training.Â
And voila, we have a promo, and so far, it’s going well. We didn’t know how people might respond to our subscription idea, but a few have bought one, and we are thankful for that. Now we just need to keep going because students will be looking for internships by January, and we want to be one of those they are seeking.Â
But all of this started with my decision to quit overthinking and appreciate what I had.Â
