Earlier this week, Nielsen, the global information company that gathers data about what people watch, listen to, and buy, has released their rankings for top social media TV stars of 2018. The numbers were determined by the stars’ trending status within 3 hours of their show’s airing between September 1st and November 30th. Topping the Primetime-All Genres list was America’s Got Talent host Tyra Banks followed by Rapper Cardi B at #3 with her appearance on the American Music Awards, and Actor Will Smith at #7 for his appearance on the Latin Grammy Awards. The rankings were broken down into 5 categories, Primetime-All Genres, Top Comedy, Top Drama, Top Reality, and Top News. Unfortunately, late night talk shows hosts like Trevor Noah and Jimmy Fallon were not considered among the rankings because late night talk shows weren’t included within the data. Reality star Porsha Williams took to Instagram to congratulate her fellow black honorees. Take a look below at some of the others who made the list.
