Reinvention is rarely comfortable. It often begins in moments when life feels uncertain, when identity shifts, relationships change, or the path forward isn’t immediately clear. Yet for many women, those very moments become the doorway to a deeper sense of purpose, confidence, and self-discovery.
For Paula Williams, Founder and CEO of EnhanceMe, that doorway opened during one of the most painful chapters of her life. After a devastating divorce, words meant to diminish her instead became the catalyst for something greater. What began as a personal fight to reclaim her own voice evolved into a movement dedicated to helping women rediscover theirs. Today, EnhanceMe stands as a growing empowerment and lifestyle brand designed to support women navigating transition—whether through healing, career shifts, personal growth, or the courage to start again.
At its core, EnhanceMe is rooted in the belief that confidence is more than surface-level beauty. It is a deep knowing of oneself that fuels emotional wellness, personal freedom, and the ability to move through life boldly. Through curated experiences, intimate conversations, and a community-centered approach, Paula has created a platform where women can feel seen, supported, and encouraged to embrace their next chapter.
In this SwagHer Spotlight conversation, Paula Williams opens up about the journey behind EnhanceMe, the power of reinvention, and why confidence is the foundation for healing the whole woman.
Fancy: EnhanceMe was founded on the belief that women deserve to feel seen and celebrated at every stage of life. What personal experience inspired you to build this platform?
Paula: Upon getting divorced in 2003, my ex husband stated to me, “Nobody’s gonna want you. You’re 36 years old with 3 children, you don’t have any friends; you should just kill yourself. “ So, the company that I started in 2001 as Enhance became EnhanceMe. My goal became not only to be seen and heard; but to also fertilize the growth of other women like me. Growing older shouldn’t be a preparation for an end all. Growing older is a time to cultivate maturation, beauty, confidence, experience and adventure.
Fancy: You focus on women navigating reinvention. What do you think makes reinvention so powerful — and so uncomfortable — at the same time?
Paula: Interesting you should ask that. Reinvention is much like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. Many women are used to flowing through life as usual. Which makes the thought of change and growth uncomfortable. Yet the powerful aspect of the process is the evolution of the butterfly: The beautiful, courageous, and confident woman.

Fancy: Confidence is a central theme of your brand. How do you define true confidence beyond aesthetics or external validation?
Paula: Confidence is an authentic beauty that far exceeds aesthetics or external features. Confidence is a knowing of oneself that extends to our beauty. It defines even the darkest hue, biggest nose, biggest lips, or weightiest woman as beautiful. Confidence holds the power to get shit done while holding spaces that aesthetically pleasing features would not dare enter.
Fancy: EnhanceMe blends beauty, lifestyle, and emotional wellness. Why was it important for you to approach empowerment holistically rather than focusing on just one area?
Paula: We also must include sexual wellness, as well. Sexual wellness was my focus upon inception of Enhance. While talking with women during my stint as a business owner teaching women to embrace and enjoy their own bodies, I have realized that we all are in different but same phases of our lives, struggling and overcoming a variety of issues that encompass insecurities. With this knowledge, it has been my aim to teach women that having authentic confidence is a key factor to healing the whole woman. Confidence confirms one’s beauty, confidence enhances an enjoyable and fulfilled lifestyle, confidence provides emotional peace and confidence allows women to approach sex and intimacy in a bold, self gratifying manner.
Fancy: Many women go through transitions quietly — career shifts, relationship endings, identity evolution. How does EnhanceMe create safe spaces for women to process those changes openly?
Paula: Well I offer a therapeutic solution based, one on one experience for women who need or would like to share in an unbiased atmosphere. My clients and I share an entire experience where we get to delve into the issue she faces in a comfortable environment. We have lunch, visit a spa, and enjoy a day of results oriented conversation and relaxation. Additionally, I host group sessions where women get to experience fun, bonding conversations and techniques that are life changing. New friendships are formed and women get the tools necessary to navigate confidently through any situation.
Fancy: As you expand nationally, how are you maintaining the intimacy and authenticity that empowerment brands sometimes lose as they scale?
Paula: Expansion is inevitable. However, I don’t ever intend to allow my audience to outgrow me. Even as EnhanceMe expands, my voice will always be the voice of the brand. Whether engaging with clients in arenas, venues, groups, conferences, etc, that voice, that advice, that encouragement will always be authentically Paula.
Fancy: What is one misconception women have about starting over or evolving later in life?
Paula: The main misconception is always, “I’m too old” (especially when it comes to intimacy. Life begins now! You’re never too old to begin. I am reminded of Abraham’s wife, Sarah. Sarah was impregnated with Israel at 100 years old. The bible never said she had an immaculate conception. This tells me that she and Abraham were getting it on even in their old ages. Sarah was still backing that thing up…. LOL
Fancy: For the woman reading this who feels stuck or unseen, what is one practical step she can take today to begin her next chapter?
Paula: One practical step that the woman who feels stuck or unseen can take is to begin by changing her mind. I find the mirror exercise to be quite helpful. Upon waking in the morning and prior to retiring for the night, she should look in the mirror and affirm to herself that she is everything that she aspires to be and that she has everything that she deserves. Consistency is key.
Fancy: What does living with “SwagHer” mean to you in this season of your life?
Paula: In this season SwagHer to me is BOLD, UNAPOLOGETIC CONFIDENCE.
Fancy: How can our readers connect with EnhanceMe and stay engaged with your movement?
