Serena Williams has officially ended her latest bid for a 24th Grand Slam Title. Today the tennis star withdrew from the French Open before her second round due to an injured Achilles heel. Williams explained that she hurt herself three weeks ago during the semi-final loss. Williams struggles to walk, and during a short video on Instagram, she explained how she didn’t give herself enough time to heal correctly. Here is the statement that Williams stated during the video.
“I love playing tennis. I love competing. And I love being out here. It’s my job; been my job. And I’m pretty good at it still,” Williams said. “So until I feel like I’m not good at it – then I’ll be like, ‘Oh, OK.’ And I’m so close to some things, I feel like I’m almost there, so I think that’s what keeps me going.”
