Miss Jill Scott Announces New Album To Whom This May Concern, Arriving February 13, 2026

After a period of reflection, creation, and community, Miss Jill Scott is officially stepping back into album mode. The Grammy Award–winning singer, songwriter, poet, and actress announced that her new album, To Whom This May Concern, will be released on February 13, 2026.

In a recent Facebook post, Scott shared that the album was shaped by a “bevy of thoughtful, talented, and focused folk,” describing the creative process as both musical and deeply personal. “Sometimes musician, sometimes just a releasing friend to laugh with,” she wrote, emphasizing the joy and connection behind the project. “We had fun!!!”

The first song from the album, Beautiful People, sets the tone for what listeners can expect—music rooted in collaboration, gratitude, and shared humanity. Scott described the track as a literal celebration of the people who helped bring the album to life, reinforcing her belief that “creating takes a village.”

Scott also offered a glimpse into the inspiration behind the song by spotlighting the people closest to the project, including her mother and longtime collaborator, drummer and producer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, acknowledging the love, mentorship, and creative magic poured into the music.

Known for blending soul, poetry, and storytelling, Jill Scott has long centered community in her work. Since her groundbreaking debut Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1, she has remained a cultural touchstone—using her voice to explore love, healing, Black womanhood, and emotional truth.

To Whom This May Concern continues that legacy, arriving as a love letter to collaboration, creativity, and the beautiful people who make the journey possible.
