As conversations around access, equity, and culturally responsive care continue to grow, Spring Into Health Atlanta is creating space for something deeper—connection, care, and real access to resources that too often feel out of reach.
Hosted by Black Educated Lesbians (BEL) on Saturday, May 16,, this free LGBTQ Health & Wellness Fair is designed to connect underserved communities with essential health services, trusted providers, and tools that support whole-person wellness.
Founded by LaJoya Johnson, BEL has built its work around a clear mission: advancing health equity, economic empowerment, and leadership development for Black women. Through year-round programming—including financial literacy initiatives like Secure the Bag, mentorship through EmpowerHER, and wellness-focused Mind, Body & Soul experiences—the organization continues to address the real gaps many communities face when it comes to sustainable support.
This event is an extension of that work.
More Than a Health Fair—A Space for Access and Alignment
Spring Into Health isn’t just about information—it’s about access.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare providers, wellness practitioners, and community organizations offering:
- health education and screenings
- mental wellness resources
- nutrition and lifestyle support
- connections to ongoing care and services
All within an environment intentionally designed to feel welcoming, affirming, and rooted in community.
Because for many, the barrier isn’t just knowledge—it’s trust, access, and representation.
Why This Moment Matters
The reality is simple: not everyone has equal access to healthcare that sees them, understands them, and supports them fully.
This event was created to address that.
By centering underserved communities—particularly those navigating gaps in culturally competent and affirming care—BEL is building a space where people don’t have to question whether they belong. They can simply show up, receive, and connect.
And that shift alone changes everything.
Community, Care, and Real Connection
Spring Into Health will bring together a collective of local businesses, healthcare organizations, and wellness professionals committed to doing more than showing up for a day.
They’re showing up to build relationships.
Because the goal isn’t just to provide resources in the moment—it’s to create connections that extend beyond the event and support long-term wellness.
