Stop, Pause

Being from New Orleans, when we hear or see, Stop Pause, we know Jubilee will tell us another dance to do. That is not this type of Stop, Pause; however, you can dance at that moment.

I am noticing everyone has been dealing with some type of weight on their shoulders. These weights can be great, walking through the success of your business venue and/or not so great, as preparing to say goodbye to a loved one. Weight has a way of pushing us down unconsciously. We are unaware of the stress and strain we are placing on ourselves as we try to do basic everyday things. It’s almost as if something is pushing you down as you are trying to move, so you can’t move as fast as you would like.

Today, I want you to STOP, PAUSE AND BE STILL. Take at least 10 mins, out of your day to be still. Allow yourself a moment to just BE, BREATHE, and let YOUR MIND ROAM. We are on to the next task, sociality that we forget to step back and breathe. Allow air to really flow completely through our lungs and settle our soul, just for a moment. Below are some moments you should take a Stop, Pause Break:

  • When something hurt your feelings
  • When something angers you
  • When you are eating
  • When you are switching task
  • When you can’t remember what you were saying in the middle of a conversation
  • When you are feeling exhausted or tired in your body and/or mind
  • When things are feeling overwhelming

Don’t limit yourself to these seven. You know what is going on in your mind and body. Taking a break to catch your breath is not a weakness. It is allowing yourself to regroup and clear your mind for a moment. Just be in silence with yourself. When you do this, the clutter moves, and you are able to think a little better. Whoosa!
