It was 2009. May. Mother's Day. The keynote at @liupost said and I quote "this is the worst year to enter into the work force, it's very dreadful" #studentloanforgiveness

#studentloanforgiveness I knew I didn't. It took me 5 immigrants to go to that one white school. Tons of my peers are in massive debt, crippled honestly, so no one dreams. I foreshadowed my post-collegiate life. Hello Depression. That's when I learned about mental health.

#studentloanforgiveness Obama gave me hope. He let us stay on our parents medical insurance. They took my gallbladder out. It cost 95K. If I had to add that to my already 70K student loan debt…at the age of 23 I would have been 165K in debt.

#studentloanforgiveness 2010. I got my masters, hopefully thinking the education would help me over the salary hump. Nope, educated Black people are NOT wanted. We are deemed, a threat to a white established company, a 1% type company. So, more depression but also art.

2011. #studentloanforgiveness I met my now husband and found love. He said, why don't we really try this #Hollywood thing. I had literally nothing to lose and everything to gain. My depression subsided. My bipolar invited. And I went back to my basic form. Entertaining.

#studentloanforgiveness In 2013 we signed with an agent. In 2015 I went to LA for the first time in my life, alone, I lied and told my grandma I would met friends but I went alone. I did visit UCLA Law school. But I spent more time on the stars. I saw myself differently.

#studentloanforgiveness I launched an online blogging career, I wrote for multiple outlets, I found a way to get in the way, and after the Clinton lost, I went to D.C. My voice only got stronger, louder, witty-er. It wasn't only the Black that was a threat, but also, the lady.

#studentloanforgiveness Sallie Mae harassed my grandma. I sued them for harassment. I also logged formal complaints against the school and the loan servicers explaining that my degree is invaluable, why do I owe you.

#studentloanforgiveness The Federal government has done nothing to rescue the millions of Americans who are in debt because there were no jobs available 6 months post-grad to pay back said loans in 2008-2010.

#studentloanforgiveness the PPP loans were to help the working class yet CEOs are struggling to find workers. The PPE loans were to help the small business class yet businesses have been going out of business since 2021. It's funny when we need to help people there's backlash.
