On Episode 6 of the Sunday Set Up, Dawn Michelle kicked off the episode with some housekeeping items and let the audience know that her show is a safe place for positivity and good vibes only.

She recapped things happening in entertainment news like actress Sheryl Lee Ralph taking to the internet to put Delta Airlines on blast. Apparently, Ralph arrived four mins too late to check a bag for her flight. She felt being a 3 million miler should have warranted an exception. Should she have received an exception?

Dawn then spoke about the shocking news of Takeoff from the group Migos being shot and killed while attending a private event at a bowling alley in Houston. Police are still investigating the shooting that also injured two others. She ended the segment with news of the passing of Aaron Carter. He was found deceased in his bathtub. He was the younger brother of Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. Aaron had his own success in the music industry before allegedly getting involved in drugs.

Continuing on she then introduced her guest Sarai Butler, the creator of the Bags Stay Packed Travel Blog. Sarai is originally from the Washington, DC, area and now resides in the Atlanta Metro area. A proud graduate of HBCU Morgan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, she is a wife and a mother to a 21-year-old daughter. Saria is also a self-proclaimed foodie and a bookworm. She is adventurous but not a daredevil and a reality show junkie.

As a writer, Sarai is very opinionated. She loves to travel and started her travel blog, Bags Stay Packed,  about two and half years ago after writing about her travels on her personal IG page. The blogger explained everywhere that I travel, I make sure to learn the Black history of that particular place and support at least one black-owned business. She now shares her travels with everyone to inspire others to travel the world, even if it’s just a road trip.

Dawn and Saria chatted about why she started the blog to encourage people to get out and see the world, even if only locally. The travel blogger gave advice about traveling solo and things to be aware of in other countries and cultures. She also spoke of how she pulls off day trips to cities she flies into. The self-proclaimed foodie and avid traveler says New Orleans is her favorite destination in the states so far. Out of the country, she loves Amsterdam! She even said she would live there if she could. “The architecture and vibe is on another level!” she says.

The guest went on to share about her time volunteering as an election poll worker in Georgia. She admitted it was way more work than she imagined but very fulfilling. They spoke about those who paved the way for allowing Blacks to vote. They wrapped the show by asking people not to take the gift of voting rights for granted.
