When purpose calls, some whisper “Maybe,” but Erin Achane answered with a resounding “Yes.” A powerhouse woman of faith, business, and resilience, Erin is redefining what it means to lead boldly in the Kingdom. As a wife, mother of four, and multi-business owner, she’s no stranger to the battlefield—both spiritual and entrepreneurial. Now, with her new book Kingdom Camouflaged, Erin issues a divine challenge to believers everywhere: to stand unashamed and unhidden for Christ in a world determined to distort His Word. With grace, grit, and the fire of divine revelation, Erin’s voice is piercing through the noise, reminding us all that faith isn’t just felt—it’s fought for.
Fancy: Your new book Kingdom Camouflage is described as a battle cry against scripture being distorted by culture. What was the moment or experience that made you realize this book and movement needed to exist?
Erin: I was moving in a totally different direction. I was working on opening a third location for my primary care clinic; writing another book was not even a thought in my mind. Until one October morning, I woke up with a vision from God. He speaks to me in visions and in dreams. I watched it play in my mind like a movie preview—a vision that would become Kingdom Camouflaged. I finished minister’s school at The Potter’s House School of Ministry just five months prior, and I knew God wanted me to reach some of my classmates. He made it clear this was nothing I was supposed to do alone—unlike my three businesses that I currently own and operate. This was a new thing.
I immediately ignored it, if I can be honest. I convinced myself I was not worthy of such a call and that God must have called me by accident. Then, out of nowhere, the bottom started to fall out of all three of my businesses at the exact same time. Everything that could go wrong was going wrong in the same week! At the same time, I became more aware of how culture was misrepresenting the only true and living God. Purpose is where revelation meets passion. I prayed, and God was clear in His intention. He wanted to use us in this generation to spread His Word in a way that would make a sound that would pierce through the noise of the day and hit the heart of His people.
Fancy: As a wife, mother of four, and multi-business owner, how has your personal journey shaped the way you approach ministry and spiritual warfare?
Erin: I didn’t come from money. Fourteen years ago, I was on Section 8, welfare, and food stamps. When I was 21 years old, my 3-year-old son was murdered. I grew up in church, but I did not know God as my Lord—just as a Savior. I was upset with God because He did not save me from the pain. He did not save my son. I turned away from God and fell into a pit. I stayed there for many years until I finally had enough and surrendered my all to God.
He blessed me with another son who is now 17 years old, a set of twin girls who are 14, and a 9-year-old daughter. I had to form a relationship with God on my own. I had to know Him for myself. Nothing I went through was wasted. God strategically allowed me to go through every experience to mold and shape me for this moment, to fulfill my purpose. Each business was birthed in different seasons of my life. All three came from God, and with each of them, I saw the mighty right hand of God move. I saw miracles, I saw things I still can’t explain.
He positioned me to have no other option but to depend on Him. But in the midst of Him elevating me, I had to fight on every level. I fight from my position of authority that is in Christ Jesus. I fight in the Spirit because we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but with principalities, powers, and spirits in high places. But the devil got the cheap seats—I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, and it’s a fixed fight! So, I see trouble differently. It moves me, it molds me, it shapes me, it reveals the sovereignty of God in my life and how He uses it to realign and reposition me.

Fancy: The book features eight powerful voices united under one mission. How did this collaboration come together, and what was it like working with fellow ministers on such a bold project?
Erin: God gave me the vision, but He gave all seven other authors the desire to complete it. It would not be possible without each and every one of their “Yes.” God wanted to demonstrate how the whole body of Christ should move—united and with one mission—to share the Good News in a way people can receive it.
Working together was easy. Even though we are all in different states and work full time, when the rubber hit the road, we all fasted, prayed, and sought the Lord, and the same Spirit gave all eight of us the same directions. While writing the book, we were all attacked in some form or fashion because Satan was in his feelings. But all of us know how to fight back in the Spirit—it’s why He called us. He set us up before the foundation of the world.
Because He knows our hearts, we never saw the book past our family, friends, and folks God led to pick it up and read it. While we believed God for the impossible, we also knew we don’t have a lot of followers and are technically unheard of, so we were just obedient in the moment and excited to share what God had given us. We lived in that headspace for the creation of the book. Even though we are in different time zones, we stayed connected via email, Zoom, and group chats. We continually prayed for each other throughout the whole project.
Fancy: In the description, you mention breaking down “Christian clichés that sound spiritual but lack biblical truth.” Can you share one cliché that you believe is most damaging and why?
Erin: There are many. But all of them have the same thing in common: they keep us stuck in religion, and we miss the relationship part. A Christian cliché is a one-sided contract, where God is responsible for fixing our lives and we are required to do nothing. We have a covenant or contract with God. Yes, He has a ton of blessings, promises, and decrees He has spoken over His people. However, we must do something—we must believe.
The Bible says in John 3:16, “that whosoever believes,” and right now our belief is under attack. We can’t tell the difference between the truth and a lie. It’s hard to distinguish between what’s real and what’s AI. Our actions are rooted in what we believe is truth. Taking a piece of scripture without its full context is like watching 20 minutes of the middle of a movie and writing a review without knowing how it started or ended. Biblical truth will always lead you back to God’s love for us—the fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, restored us back to God, and now God Himself lives in us in the person of the Holy Spirit.
Fancy: What does it mean to you to “stand boldly on the Kingdom of God,” and how do you encourage the next generation to do the same in a culture that often pulls them away from their faith?
Erin: It means to know who you are in Christ. Know who you are so you can know who you’re not. It means that no matter what happens, whether good or bad, you have to tell yourself, “I will trust in the Lord.” Trust His timing. Trust the process. Trust that He is a good God who has a bigger plan for my life.
For this next generation—don’t separate yourself from the culture. God planted you in this generation, at this time, in this season, so you can change the culture by knowing and completing your assignment. Jesus paid top dollar for our lives—He paid it with His own life. So, I must be something. I must be valuable to Him, regardless of what folks say on Facebook or what I’ve done. He said I am forgiven, and He is not like man, that He should lie.
God said I was worth saving—not because of where I work, how much money I have, or how many followers I have, but because God loves us with an unconditional love that will follow us even after death. This generation is searching for truth, hungry for answers, and Jesus has the answers in His Word. Culture changes with every generation, but the Word of God stands forever. This new generation has so much passion, self-awareness, and creativity—God made them that way! It’s okay to be set apart; that’s your strength, not your kryptonite. Surrender your time, talents, and gifts to God as a living sacrifice, and He will blow your mind! One of these young folks is gonna bust this thing wide open, and I pray I am here to see it!
Fancy: Many believers wrestle with blending in versus standing out in their faith. What advice would you give to someone who feels called to be bold but fears rejection or criticism?
Erin: First off, all of us are sinners. Period. All of us are raggedy, a hot mess. All of us get in our feelings, overreact, get prideful sometimes, lie—all of us are sinners. The Bible says in my South Louisiana translation, “None of us are good!” But when we accept Jesus, He makes us holy, He makes us righteous. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We are more than conquerors through Him. It’s not us—it’s Him through us!
God desires not just to dwell with you but to dwell in you. That’s crazy, right? Me—the hot mess! If God is calling you, please understand He already knew He was gonna call you before your mama met your daddy! He already has everything laid out for you. But you must have faith that His will and His purpose will come to pass in the right season.
And because He loves you, He already knows the areas where you’ve convinced yourself you can’t do it. For example, I was terrified of this call because I don’t want to be famous. I like my little country life. I’m uncomfortable with a lot of people in my business, and I’d rather be in the background and not on center stage—and God knows that. So, I told Him I would do it only if He would stay with me the whole time. I mean, I need Jesus on FaceTime all day long to make sure I do what He had in mind.
But even when a door slams in my face, even when I get my feelings hurt, even when I cry myself to sleep, He is still with me! He reminds me I’m not doing this for me; I’m doing this with Him, for you, so you may know the hope of His calling! So, study the Word to show yourself approved. Sign up for PHSOM with The Potter’s House of Dallas. And date God in real life. Be your authentic self and be obedient regardless of the cost. I promise—the reward is way better than the cost. The same God who created the heavens and the earth is my friend. That’s better than all the money in the world!
Fancy: What do you hope readers will walk away with after reading Kingdom Camouflaged, and how can they join or support this movement beyond just the book?
Erin: I hope they see themselves in this book and start to speak the Word of God over their lives. If you start speaking what you believe, the devil is gonna crash out! I hope they see that their walk with God does not have to look like their grandma and them. God wants to do a brand-new thing with this generation, and it starts with repentance.
God does not want to just take away your sins and leave you empty—He wants to fill you up with His Holy Spirit so you can be what He created you to be. The things we are living in—the struggle is real—but the struggle serves a purpose. It is here to position our hearts back to the Father. Your life is unique; nobody has your story and nobody has your testimony.
We need the remnant to rise. If the Lord is for you, who in their right mind will stand against you? So, we need you ten toes down to stand on the Word, come hell or high water!
