SwagHer Spotlight: Kimberley E.

One glance at Kimberley E., and you see class, determination, and confidence. When you hear her talk, you can almost feel her confidence seemingly permeating through her pores. She almost seems unflappable. Is there such a person though? How did this Queen who grew up “on the other side of the tracks”, get to be this inspiring, motivating individual affecting positivity globally?

Kim grew up in what some consider to be one of the roughest parts of Kingston, Jamaica. Growing up in rough surroundings didn’t faze her. She had already sought comfort in drawing. Drawing became her comfort, her pacifier, and eventually, was the building block that helped her build her empire.

Coming to the United States in her late teenage years, she was able to strategize a way to use her passion to build a better life for her mother, her brother, and of course herself. Finding income was never really a major obstacle. Part of what I called her gift, is her way of switching situations around no matter how dismal they appear to be. She attributes this trait as a big stepping stone towards her success.

Kimberley describes herself as “challenging”, and I can see why she would come to that conclusion; she’s the type of person who will not just go along to get along in a situation. She truly believes in fairness for all, regardless of your status or any other social markers. She encourages people to truly know yourself in every possible aspect. She contends once you get to TRULY know yourself, you will definitely be on the path to TRUE self-love and happiness. She advises not looking to someone else to make you happy since happiness and love comes from within, and expecting it from others will lead to a miserable existence, and not a lived life.

What does she attribute her success to or her “vibrational” elevation? Her perspective is, along with self-love, we also need to practice and embrace community love. Let go of gossip, negativity, and vindictive feelings. Always switch back to the positive, no matter what. When one of life’s curveballs came at her, and she loss her house and so on, she wasn’t even stressed or pressed! She was thankful her mom and family were okay. She’s hardly ever pressed about the materialistic, but always seeking the simplistic in life.

Through many obstacles, she has reinforced self-love and positive perspectives. This has helped her to live seemingly effortless in her “SwagHer” as a “comfortable and confident” Queen, who rules her company in that mindset. Her company M.K.N.E. which stands for My Knowledge Now is Eternal, is a clothing company, set to help women feel just that: comfortable and confident. It is also a way of encouraging women to continue on their journey of self-love and to train their minds to have a positive perspective. She encourages them to think and think AGAIN before you react, because however they react will lead to their knowledge being eternal, hopefully in the outcome they want.

Kim is a serious entrepreneur and businesswoman. People may look at her and expect Attila the Hun. This may be because, her business is her baby, and she will not afford herself the luxury of putting her guard down in business. Those who are privileged to call her family and friend, consider her the joker. Hopefully one day, the world will get a peek at this amazing, inspiring, and motivating woman walking in her purpose, comfortably confident.
