Christina: What is your SwagHer? What makes LaQuita, LaQuita?
LaQuita: My SwagHer is confidence in who God is and who I am in Christ, embracing my God-given assignments on the earth. Being a wife, mom and grandmother are by far the things that truly define me. In this stage of my life, I have fully embraced the power and authority that comes with these roles; I desired to walk successfully in these roles that began a journey that would result in me becoming a minister, international speaker, and coach.
Christina: Tell us a little bit about your weekly broadcast, Create Your Future Self Live. Where can our readers go to listen/ watch?
LaQuita: I co-host this event every Monday at 6 pm CST. We have weekly guests discussing topics related to entrepreneurship, real estate, credit, success mindset, wealth-building, and more. This show was birthed out of our desire to provide a platform that aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up entrepreneurs can view to gain access to industry experts that can help them build their brands. Viewers can watch/listen weekly via Facebook and YouTube.
Christina: You’ve spoken all over the world. Have you always wanted to be an international speaker? Which country or city was your favorite?
LaQuita: Honestly, becoming an international speaker was not even on my radar. My desire was simply to do what the Lord desired for my life. Walking in my purpose as wife, mom, and minister was my focus, and at the time, I believed that to be right in my local community. My grandmother always says, “Man can plan, but God unplans” she is so right. In doing what God desired for my life, he blessed me with unexpected opportunities that opened the door for me to speak internationally.
Leicester, UK and Nairobi, Kenya are my favorite places to speak. I love the energy of the people and their desire to learn, ask questions. They are very authentic and simply desire to grow. Both cities are also an amazing experience strictly from a traveler’s perspective.
Christina: What are three things people can do to change their mindset?
LaQuita: We will never elevate above our most dominant thoughts. To shift our lives, we must shift our minds.Â
Commit these steps to memory:
- Think.
- Say.
- Do.
To transform into the individuals we want to be or accomplish our wildest dreams; we must first conceive it in our minds, believe it in our hearts, and confess it with our mouths.
What thoughts are you thinking?
What confessions are you making?
What actions are you taking to be and do on another level?
What we think, we will say; what we say, we will do; what we do defines who we are.
To prepare for success, have an EVER FORWARD AND NEVER BACKWARD MINDSET. The human mind is an amazingly malleable thing! Declare the desires of your heart rather than the heaviness of your reality. Set your mind (and heart) to be resolution-oriented and results-driven, then successfully move forward.Â
Christina: Who or what inspires you?Â
LaQuita: Watching the lives of my client’s change is what inspires me. There is nothing more rewarding than experiencing that moment when the “lightbulb” goes off, and you know that the person has locked in, and their mindset is shifting. It is such an honor to be a part of their journey. My passion is to ignite people’s visions and introduce them to a place of courage, destiny, and power.
Christina: Define leadership in your own words.Â
LaQuita: “The essence of leadership is the exercise of influence “(Dr. Myles Munroe).Â
Leaders create a vision; leaders inspire and motivate.Â
“Leadership is the art of accomplishing more than the science of management teaches you is possible, this requires a vision, that can take you from where you are to where you want to be” (Sheryl Sandberg).
Leadership is the ability to influence others through passion and determination.
Leadership is resolution-oriented and result-driven.
Leadership cannot be put into a definition, but it is expressed in character traits.
Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like our readers to know about?
LaQuita: On March 29th, my ROKU TV and Apple TV channels will be Live. To find out more information about the channels and discover how one can get their content on the channel, please check out my website, www.laquitatoolboxtv.com.
Christina: Is there anything else you would like to share?
LaQuita: Each of us is POWERFUL! It took me years to embrace this life-transforming message. My hope is that those the Lord allows me to influence will embrace this and let this fact catapult them into their destiny.Â
Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher, said the following:
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
Your thoughts are POWERFUL. They dictate your words. Your words are POWERFUL. They shape your life. As beings created in the image of God – the One who spoke the world into existence – we possess creative word-power as well.
