SwagHer Spotlight: Paula Pierce

Fitness is a lifestyle that anyone can choose. It is a habit you form for results you can see. Paula Pierce likes to see her results. Something about looking at the results in the mirror, knowing she worked for them, hits your confidence differently. Not saying it’s easy. But building the habit is worth it. As a mother of 2 and a business owner, fitness is a choice Paula made to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It’s not always an easy start; most times, she doesn’t want to.

“I don’t feel like it. I’m not in the mood. When I go the hardest, I just get up and put myself in the environment to get started. Honestly, not waiting for the motivation is key; instead, I take action. From there, I see results that motivate me to push through and move forward, knocking out goal after goal after goal. You can, too; just choose to do it right now,”. says Pierce.

Christina: What is your SwagHer? What makes Paula, Paula?

Paula: Class and grace, as a ballerina, instilled in me from a very early age, and I always carry over into every genre of my life. So you might see this fit pretty female and think that’s it. But it’s my education, class, and the way I carry myself that sets me apart.

Christina: Why did you decide to pursue a career in health/fitness?

Paula: Honestly, fitness chose me. I’ve always been an athlete, as a dancer. I started dancing when I was three up until the age of about 17. It was even my major in school, so it was four hours of dance a day, five days a week, plus after-school dance at an actual dance school. It was an easy transition to go into fitness, and then it just became a part of my lifestyle. I like how I looked. I like the way I felt about having fitness as a part of my routine.

Christina: Can you give us three tips to stay fit during quarantine?

Paula: Being consistent. No matter what. Even when you don’t want to, just start. Often, it’s the start that’s the problem, so if you just take that out of the equation altogether and actually just get into the action of working out, you tend to get through your workout.

Christina: Tell us a little bit about your fitness apparel line, 1113 Fit Styles. Where can our readers go to purchase?

Paula: 1113 is very personal to me. It’s my birthday, but more so it’s my angel number. I started noticing years ago that every time I was in a wrong place or stressed or overwhelmed, for some reason, that number would be somewhere it would be on a sign it will be on the clock it will be on my phone it would just show itself. From there, I actually started just to research why do I keep seeing this particular number beside the fact that it was my birthday; that’s an easy correlation. Still, it felt so much deeper to me than that, and when I looked up the actual number, it is said to be my angel number.

Angel number 1113 means that there may be some obstacles and problems in your life right now. Thanks to your guardian angels and number 1113, you will be able to discover your life purpose as well. Through number 1113, your angels remind you to be strong and brave even in the most difficult situations. Once I found this, I realized that I kept seeing this during these particular times because it was a reminder, so I put it on the apparel to remind myself anybody who buys it. For me, through consistency, you will find your purpose.

Christina: As a fitness coach, do you offer personalized training/workout programs? If so, where can one go to get more information?

Paula: On my fitness platform, you can work out with me on a monthly program for him and other available workouts. That information is available on my Instagram, and the website is www.101paulaP.fit

Christina: Why do you believe fitness/exercise should be a part of everyone’s daily life?

Paula: I think fitness and just activity, in general, should be a part of your daily life because it’s like the saying goes if you don’t use it you’re going to lose it, so if you’re not using your muscles and you’re not training your muscles to work and function at the capacity that they’re supposed to function and then ultimately they’re not going to work correctly, and you’ll end up with more issues as an adult down the line then you would if you were using your muscles actively working your appetite stretching and helping your muscles to not only strengthen but repair themselves so that they continuously get stronger and through strength, anybody is going to feel better than they would if they were weak from not working out. And honestly, this starts with the biggest muscle there is, which is your brain. You have to prepare yourself to do these things. The more mentally you do it, the strong your brain gets, the easier everything is, so if you’re continually training yourself to prepare yourself to work out mentally, then physically, you’re going to follow.

Christina: If someone is unmotivated to work out, what are some things they can do to get themselves in the mindset to be fit and active?

Paula: Most days, I don’t want to work out, but again it’s sometimes breaking the cycle of getting the motivation taken action seeing results. If you change that equation and take action first, you’ll see results, and then that’ll motivate you. I teach many of my clients that because that’s a cycle that we need to break, people are always sitting around waiting for this motivation that might never come, but the cycle will go if you just start and take action.

Christina: Define confidence in your own words.

Paula: Confidence that’s a strong word, and most people would look at me and think I have all the confidence in the world, but it’s actually the opposite. I’ve struggled with this for years, and sometimes the expectations of this world and people put on you can tend to affect your confidence. What I’ve learned is feeling better about myself from the inside helps with my confidence, and fitness gives me that good feeling. I look good, so I feel good. I see my results from my work, so I feel better about myself. Confidence falls in line with your mental state, so where you at in your mental state and how good you feel about yourself is a direct correlation of your confidence.

Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like our readers to know about?

Paula: Upcoming is just going to be more workouts and the clothing line.
