The Becoming of Tiffany Draper: Building Community, Courage, and Collective Power

Tiffany Draper is a visionary rooted in service, faith, and community. As the founder of The Women’s Expo Huntsville, nonprofit leader of She Can Grow, owner of Studio 53, and creator of The Draper Effect, Tiffany has built an ecosystem that centers women not just as dreamers, but as doers. Her work is grounded in lived experience, compassion, and an unwavering belief that women deserve access, visibility, and support exactly where they are.

Fancy: The Women’s Expo Huntsville was born from a deeply personal place. What inspired you to create it?

Tiffany: I reached out to so many people when I knew I wanted to go into business or start a business, and no one would help me or mentor me. Then I saw other women around me, brilliant, gifted women, who had ideas, businesses, and dreams but did not always have access, visibility, or support. I wanted to create a space where women felt seen, celebrated, and safe to start exactly where they were. They did not have to have it all together, just enough energy and patience to start.

Fancy: What fueled the growth of the Expo over time?

Tiffany: Authenticity and community. I focused on being intentional, not on being everything. Women tell other women when something is real. The Expo grew because it met a real need and centered connection, intention, and opportunity, not competition. I am not a mean girl. I never have been. I show up as myself every time, and I think people feel that. I am not glammed up every day. That is not me. I deserve to show up as my real self, and other women need to see that too.

Fancy: She Can Grow has become a lifeline for many women. What led you to create it?

Tiffany: She Can Grow was created because I was once the woman who needed help. I knew what it felt like to struggle quietly. Women needed more than motivation. They needed tangible support: rent assistance, childcare, tuition help, groceries, and hope. What I am most proud of is that we do not just inspire, we intervene. We help women stabilize, rebuild, and move forward with dignity.

Fancy: You wear many hats. How do you stay grounded while growing such a powerful ecosystem?

Tiffany: I remember why I started. I am a woman and a mom before anything else. Everything I build is rooted in legacy and what my sons see about service, leadership, and integrity. I am intentional about prayer, boundaries, and listening to my body. Growth is beautiful, but alignment is more important than expansion.

Fancy: The Women’s Expo has become an economic catalyst for women entrepreneurs in the Tennessee Valley. What impact do you see it having long term?

Tiffany: Events like the Women’s Expo shift the narrative. We normalize women as CEOs, founders, investors, and decision makers. We give women visibility, revenue opportunities, and confidence to scale. In the South, we are redefining leadership as collaborative, bold, and rooted in community. As a Black woman hosting the first and longest standing women’s expo in North Alabama, I am proud to continue making this happen in my hometown of Huntsville.

Fancy: You have received major recognition, including Humanitarian of the Year and a proclamation from Governor Kay Ivey. What do those honors mean to you?

Tiffany: They are humbling. They affirm that the work matters, but they do not define me. For me, recognition is responsibility. It reminds me to keep going, keep giving, and keep creating opportunities for others. God is my source and my strength. Without Him, none of this would be possible.

Fancy: Studio 53 and The Draper Effect reflect a more personal side of your brand. What do these spaces represent?

Tiffany: Studio 53 is creativity, healing, and community in physical form. It is a place where people celebrate life and milestones. The Draper Effect is about impact, helping people see their value and step fully into who they are called to be. Together they represent freedom, faith, and forward movement. That is the legacy I want to leave.

Fancy: Your motto is “Be bold. Break barriers. Become her.” How do you live that out?

Tiffany: I choose courage over comfort. I say yes when I am scared. I give myself grace. I have lost everything before and had to build myself back up. It was hard, but it shaped my character. Becoming her is not about perfection. It is about alignment, healing, learning, and standing in your truth unapologetically. You never stop becoming. This is a lifelong journey.

Fancy: How would you describe your SwagHer? What makes Tiffany, Tiffany?

Tiffany: My SwagHer is confidence rooted in compassion. I am bold but nurturing, visionary but grounded. I lead with heart, faith, and purpose. I care deeply. I show up fully. I do not forget where I came from. I want to see us all win. I am fun, goofy, loving, charismatic, and I am enjoying my life. I love peace, and I am always a girls girl.
