The “Future is Female”, the long-overdue movement is making strides with a new generation of badass women of all generations. One such woman is T’Shura Gibbs.
Ms. Gibbs was raised in a working-class home and both she and her siblings studied and took notes on their mother’s behavior, from her work ethic, to how she reacted in situations, good or bad, and also how she carried herself.Â
T’Shura took those values with her and incorporated them into her personal and professional life. As a mother of two daughters and two sons, she prides herself in making sure her children know that her availability to them is top priority, just as her mother did. T’Shura is a mother first, CEO/BOSS LADY, and has a plethora of other tasks that would have the average person running for the hills. How does she balance it all? She says she doesn’t look at it as “balancing, but as integration.” She describes herself as courageous, as she takes risks nobody would think to do, much less persevere. That courage constantly feeds her soul and she tries to lead by example in terms of her children by telling them to follow their passions and dreams without hesitation.Â
She attributes her overall health to meditation which is a tool she utilizes, probably as much as most people use their cell phones. This tool has helped her to keep her composure, especially in a corporate climate where being a “LadyBoss” might still not be as acceptable as it should be. She has had experiences, unfortunately, where a colleague was less than enthused about her position, as a superior. This individual apparently started to spread salacious rumors about T’Shura. She faced it head-on, addressing the situation directly. The gossip halted. She has always been bold and assertive, two characteristics one needs to be a head honcho, along with being unflinching to take risks.
She has always been intrigued by holistic practices, and after her spouse passed, she was even more determined to find out about CBD oil, the good, the bad, the indifferent. A passion for her ignited, and her voracious appetite for knowledge has basically landed her in the position, as CEO of Zimmerman and Company. Ms. Gibbs knew about the stigma of marijuana and the negative connotation it carries. Conversely, she knows what a difference this product can and has done to increase the quality of innumerable lives. The versatility of the product is being discovered, from skincare to medicines.
She travels frequently for her profession, however helping people have a better quality of life truly seems to be a blessing to her. I asked her what her “SwagHer” was, and funny enough that question took some reflection. As I stared at her, and she looked at me, we seemed to say at the same time, “free-spirited!” Then we both chuckled, and I told her I saw that spirit in her. We both concluded that despite people having the misguided notion that she’s a snob, nothing could be further from the truth!Â
