The Garden of Pearls: Haitian Girls Brunch Celebrates Six Years of Sisterhood, Culture, and Connection

There’s something powerful about women gathering with intention—and when culture, community, and confidence intersect, the experience becomes unforgettable.

On Sunday, March 22, 2026, the 6th Annual Haitian Girls Brunch returns with its beautifully curated theme, Garden of Pearls, bringing together Haitian professional women, entrepreneurs, and creatives for an afternoon rooted in elegance, empowerment, and cultural pride. Set in New Hyde Park, Long Island—on the border of Queens and Long Island—this signature experience continues to blossom into a meaningful space where connection meets celebration.

Founded by social worker, author, and community curator Jina Etienne, Haitian Girls Brunch was inspired by her book and has since evolved into a thriving annual gathering. What began as a vision has grown into a movement—one that centers Haitian women, their stories, and their collective brilliance.

And this isn’t just a brunch—it’s a full experience.

Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated afternoon complete with a luxe brunch, networking opportunities, music, vendors, and a dynamic panel discussion featuring Haitian women making impactful moves across industries including beauty, wellness, media, and business.

This year, Jina Etienne will also take the stage as a featured speaker—offering insight, inspiration, and reflection on the evolution of Haitian Girls Brunch and the deeper purpose behind creating intentional spaces for women within the diaspora. Her voice, rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience, continues to anchor the heart of this growing community.

At its core, Haitian Girls Brunch exists to create space.

Space for Haitian women to be seen.
Space to be celebrated.
Space to connect, collaborate, and grow.

In a world that often overlooks the nuanced stories of Black women—especially those within the diaspora—this event intentionally centers them, reminding attendees that their voices, journeys, and contributions matter.

This year’s Garden of Pearls theme is especially fitting. Pearls are formed through pressure, time, and resilience—much like the journeys of the women in the room. Each attendee, speaker, and supporter represents wisdom, growth, and beauty shaped through experience. Together, they create something rare and radiant.

But beyond the aesthetic and the experience, this moment carries deeper significance.

In this season, Black women are navigating a unique intersection of visibility, pressure, and evolution.

We are building businesses, leading movements, prioritizing wellness, and redefining what success looks like—often all at the same time. And while we are showing up more boldly than ever, the spaces that truly see us, support us, and pour back into us still matter just as much.

That’s why gatherings like Haitian Girls Brunch are not just beautiful—they’re necessary.

For Black women within the diaspora, especially, there is power in being in rooms where your culture is not just acknowledged, but centered. Where your story doesn’t need translation. Where your identity is not fragmented, but fully embraced.

This is about more than networking.
It’s about restoration.
It’s about alignment.
It’s about being reminded that you don’t have to build alone.

As conversations around community, collaboration, and collective growth continue to rise, events like this reflect a deeper shift—one where Black women are intentionally creating ecosystems that sustain us, not just spotlight us.

Because visibility without support is exhausting.
But visibility within community? That’s transformative.

And right now, Black women aren’t just showing up—we’re building spaces that ensure we thrive.

“I’m excited to celebrate six years of Haitian Girls Brunch and the incredible women who continue to support and grow this community,” says Etienne. “Each year the event evolves, and this year’s Garden of Pearls theme reflects wisdom, growth, and the beauty of Haitian women coming together to share their stories, build connections, and inspire the next generation.”

Supported by community organizations and brand partners aligned with Haitian women’s empowerment and cultural visibility, the event continues to expand its reach while maintaining its intimate, intentional feel.

For those looking to attend, tickets are available now via Eventbrite, and guests are encouraged to stay connected through @haitiangirlsbrunch on Instagram or visit www.haitiangirlsbrunch.info for updates.

Because when women gather like this—with purpose, pride, and power—it’s never just an event.

It’s a reminder of who we are.
And what we’re capable of building—together.
