A 7-Week Sacred Rebuild Journey for Black Women
The Sacred Rebuild says, “Let’s return to ourselves.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
For generations, Black women have been celebrated for surviving.
We have been praised for being strong.
Applauded for sacrificing.
Expected to carry families, communities, churches, workplaces, and generations.
But somewhere along the way… we forgot that God never called us to carry everything.
He never asked us to abandon ourselves to save everyone else.
This series is about laying those burdens down.
Not because we are weak…
Because we are finally choosing freedom.
“Who Told You You Had to Be Strong All the Time?”
Breaking the identity of the “Strong Black Woman.”
“He gives strength to the weary…” – Isaiah 40:29
Notice… God gives strength.
He never expected us to manufacture it forever.
Somewhere our strength became our prison.
People stopped asking how we were doing because they assumed we’d figure it out.
We became the counselor…
The caretaker…
The peacemaker…
The financial rescuer…
The emotional sponge.
But who became those things for us?
Many Black women don’t know what it feels like to simply be held.
Reflection Questions
- Who benefits from me never resting?
- What would happen if I admitted I’m tired?
- When did strength stop feeling like a gift and start feeling like survival?
Affirmation
“I am not failing because I need rest.
I am human.
God never asked me to carry what belongs to Him.”
Healing Assignment
Ask for help one time this week.
Don’t apologize.
Don’t explain.
Simply receive.
