With so many events taking place now days, you never know how things may go, but Waffles, Wings, and Women 5 did not disappoint. Though this is the fifth year My Forever Sisters has presented the event, I hadn’t been able to attend one before. Here’s what I enjoyed most about the event, or shall we call it the syrup on top.Â
- The icebreaker was hard-hitting. Guests had to participate in this hand passing game as hostess Louisa Palmer read a story that required them to pass their event pamphlets left or right, depending on which direction she shared in her story. I also enjoyed watching the ladies play musical chairs vying for the title for their table.
- Motivational speaker, John Harris, founder of You Can Do LLC., and international speaker, Valencia Griffin-Wallace both delivered powerful messages as the guests enjoyed their food and shopped with vendors. Wallace’s Krav Maga imagery was also hard-hitting and comical.
- All the guests were engaging with other. I’m so tired of going to events where everyone wants to sit and keep to themselves. It was nice to see people really mingling.

If you didn’t make it to this year’s event, don’t worry, there’s always next year as this is an annual event.
My Forever Sisters was started five years ago, because founder Louisa Palmer felt like women take care of everyone but themselves. She wanted a place where women could come to be encouraged, educated, and empowered to be their best self. The organization hosts workshops, classes, and events for women throughout the year. This year’s events premiere sponsors were You Can Do LLC, Marie Creations, Prayer Time Ministry Inc, and Soar Counseling and Consulting Services.Â
