Wednesday Wonder Woman: Brianna Davison

Brianna Davison, known around town as “SHERO”, is an extremely gifted woman with an exceptionally big heart. In 2018, Davison discovered her calling after meeting a child who lost her hair due to a difficult illness.

Inspired by this, Brianna decided to sow into the lives of young girls, designing specific wigs that are more lifelike for little girls, who are suffering from cancer and other illnesses. After a viral social media post and a press interview with Memphis local WREG News, Rich Kids Collection was created.

Brianna is currently expanding her business by taking her Kids Wigs on tour to offer more charitable services for children all over the world who suffer from hair loss conditions.

After salon hours several nights a week, this shero spends quality time giving back to her community as a volunteer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Now it’s our time to put the stylist in the chair. Get more familiar with Brianna below.

Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Brianna, Brianna?

Brianna: I would explain my swagher with two words; “Game Changer.” After building a close relationship with God, I discovered my purpose which is making wigs for kids.

Fancy: How long have you worked in the beauty industry and do you still style hair in a salon?

Brianna: I’ve been in the beauty industry for seven years, and yes, I still style hair. I mainly specialize in lace wig installs.

Fancy: While we often say, “it’s just hair”, we know that’s not the truth, and your work proves it. Can you recall and share the moment you yourself realized it was more than just hair?

Brianna: The moment I realized it was more than just hair is when I saw the dramatic change in the first little girl’s confidence after installing her wig. She couldn’t stay out of the mirror, and her smile was contagious.

Fancy: The hair industry has come a long way as far as representation and options suitable for black and brown girls, but what was your go-to style back in the day?

Brianna: My go-to style back in the day was a Romance Curl Ponytail. Baby, couldn’t nobody tell me I wasn’t the baddest thing walking. Lol!

Fancy: Do the girls tell you how they would like the wig styled or do you have creative control?

Brianna: I have wigs already styled and prepped most of the time, but, I always ask if they have a specific style in mind and most of the time they do.

Fancy: Are the wigs expensive for you to create?

Brianna: The wigs can be very expensive, not to mention the supplies I need to make them such as jam, gel, mousse, rubber bands, clips, bows, brushes, etc.

Fancy: Can you name one celeb or influencer you would like to make a wig for?

Brianna: I would love to make a wig for Tyra Banks after hearing that she suffers from alopecia as well.

Fancy: Can you share more about “The Happy Cart”?

Brianna: The Happy Cart is the bearer of happiness to both children and parents. Several nights a week, I spend quality time giving back to the community as a volunteer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This time is specifically dedicated to an established program called “The Happy Cart,” which provides crafts and activities to the patients of St. Jude.

Fancy: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you care to share?

Brianna: Yes! I’m having an event for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month on September 21st in my hometown of Memphis, TN called, “The Kids Explosion”. It will shine a light on all the girls who won the giveaways during my Kids Wig Tour. I will have vendors, live performances, fashion shows, talents of all sorts, giveaways, and more!
