Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Jaresha, Jaresha?

Jaresha: I am a passionate and driven woman of God who is on a mission to cultivate self-worth, empowerment, and value to everyone that I meet. I live an authentic and transparent life in hopes that it will show others that once you decide to become transparent you gain confidence, trust, clarity, respect, and peace which ultimately leads to transformation.

Fancy: How did you discover your purpose?

Jaresha: Truth is, I believe I got introduced to my purpose when I was a young girl. I had an experience with a bully as a child that prompted not only feelings of hurt and fear, but I started asking myself questions. I needed to understand why someone who didn’t know me not like me, why was she so quick to judge me before getting to know me, and how could I help her see that we are both beautiful and talented. Then, I was too young to understand what was truly going on internally. However, over the years, I had several encounters and experiences with people of all ages, who I had an opportunity to empower, inspire, and encourage because I wanted each of them to know and see their greatness. It became so important for me to add value to others and to help them on their own growth journey. It was during these years that I learned to dive deeper and recognized that the one thing that bothered me to the core and kept me up at night was actually introduced to me as a young girl. Discovering my purpose, allowed me to develop my talents, understand my why, and then begin my mission to help people recognize their potential and develop their self-assurance.

Fancy: So which came first your coaching service, Empower on Purpose, or your radio station?

Jaresha: Funny thing is I have always wanted to start my own podcast or radio station and pushed the idea to the side because I had no idea where to begin. Until the opportunity came to start Envisioned Broadcasting, and I decided to jump and build my wings on the way down. Similarly, I knew I wanted to start my own business, but I was still trying to figure out what type of business I wanted. Almost four years ago, Empower on Purpose was born as a result of mentoring, coaching and consulting with individuals that would ask me for advice. It was through 18 years of combined experience in healthcare, business development, education, and finance; people started asking me for professional advice or to be their mentor. I then received my certification as a coach, speaker, and trainer for the John Maxwell Team. This allowed me to expand my services within EOP to help individuals and businesses with leadership, personal and professional development.

Fancy: How would you describe your ideal client?

Jaresha: My ideal client is one who is ready to step outside their comfort zone, discover their purpose, and develop the self-assurance to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Fancy: Are there any skills or knowledge from your time as an employee that you would say prepared you for your work now?

Jaresha: Absolutely! My work experiences and education have definitely prepared and developed me as an entrepreneur. Without the skills and knowledge from the corporate world, I believe Empower On Purpose, LLC wouldn’t be where it is today.

Fancy: How many books do you have and what are their titles?

Jaresha: I was blessed to be apart of two book collaborations – “It Takes Money Honey- Freedom, Faith and Finances” and “Shout Hallelujah with Me”. “It takes Money Honey – Freedom, Faith and Finances” is book collaboration of enlightened women on a journey to daily transformation and growth. “Shout Hallelujah with Me” is a devotional based on real-life stories of God’s love, understanding, and determination.

Fancy: As a single mother, how do you balance your work and personal lives or do you seek balance?

Jaresha: As a single mother, balance is so important. This is probably the question I get asked the most by those who I come in contact with. How do you do it all? I won’t say that it’s simple, but I will say that I have a great support system that helps me manage it all. I think as single moms, we think we have to do it all. We do have to work our butts off, but we have to learn to ask for help and develop a support system. In addition, I am a planner and organizer so it’s so important to have structure and a routine and stick to it. I dedicate about four hours every Sunday just for planning and organizing for the next week. I also schedule time on my calendar for myself and individual date nights with each of my children, where they get a budget and plan where we go and where we eat for the evening. Truthfully, there would be no balance without managing your time effectively. As a single mom, I over-manage my time and consistency is the key. I am very adamant in my household about planning and being consistent. And I always keep my children involved in what I am doing and working on. We have weekly family meetings to talk about the week, what’s going on, who we can pray for, and what we are celebrating.

Fancy: How do you practice self-care?

Jaresha: As a single mompreneur, self-care is an absolute must. When life gets busy, it’s important to take time to take care of yourself. I use some form of self-care daily by practicing one or more of these: create gratitude lists, some form of exercise of physical activity, write and journal my thoughts, rest and rejuvenate, meditate, prayer and devotion, and work on organizing or planning in my Erin Condren or Happy Planners. It so therapeutic and relaxing to sit down and organize and plan.

Fancy: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you care to share?

Jaresha: Yes, I am working on an exciting project, and I have a couple of monthly reoccurring events that I want to share. Planning and organizing are very important parts of my life and business, so Empower On Purpose will be launching a Planner by the end of the year. In addition, I am hosting a free networking virtual vision board workshop every month until the end of the year. This workshop provides a networking platform as well as information about making your vision board and using it to achieve your goals and dreams. I also host workshops and mastermind groups monthly for those who are looking for growth and success and leadership training.
