Fancy: How were you called to Ministry?
Lady Ferguson: I was just a small girl when God initially called me to Ministry. I was about five years of age when I gave my first sermon before a crowd of about 50 or so. I didn’t quite understand then, but as I began to allow God to develop my character, I realized the call He had on my life was far greater than I could ever imagine. In June of 2002, after years of running and living a hellish lifestyle and almost dying, I finally accepted the call. God began to prepare me by sending me to seminary, where I obtained a two-year Discipleship Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion. I was licensed in May of 2017, and now am the Associate Pastor at Christ Creative Baptist Church, in Temple Hills, MD, where I Preach and teach the true and engrafted Word of God.
Fancy: What are a few of the projects you’ve executed in the past for the S.A.IN.T.S?
Lady Ferguson: S.A.IN.I.T.S, Sisters Aiding IN Transforming Sisters is a Women’s Ministry where we help empower, encourage, uplift, motivate, recognize and teach women of all ages how to be in touch with that spiritual side of them.
In 2014, we began a journey to give back to those in need by meeting early morning for motivational walks across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, (connects Maryland and Virginia and near the National Harbor) which is approximately six miles round trip. We would meet up at 6am, pray and then hike across the bridge with a focus on God’s Word, while at the same time becoming more physically fit. We made and sold S.A.IN.T.S tee-shirts to all who joined us, near and far. We even had folks joining from other states dedicating to the cause, rescuing abused and battered women and children.
Since 2014, we have consecutively hosted an annual Women’s Night of Worship, where we gather together and do nothing but lift the Name of Jesus in worship. Many have come to Christ as a result of these worship sessions.
In 2017, we began our “Adopt A Family for Christmas†program, where we chose a family within the community to provide food, clothing, shoes, toys, and bibles. I love to see the looks on the children’s faces when they open their gifts. It’s such a heartwarming feeling to give.
In 2018, we began our “Back to Basics†Ministry, where we meet every Saturday morning to teach and train young adults within the community, on the principles of God’s Word to include leadership, financial literacy, educational paths, health, and fitness.
Fancy: What do you enjoy most about your work?
Lady Ferguson: I really enjoy helping and supporting others. It gives me great pleasure to see others succeed in life. My motto is “Working to Serve.†As I serve others, God favors and provides my every need and Blesses me tremendously.
Fancy: What makes Lady Ferguson, Lady Ferguson?
Lady Ferguson: Humility, love, honesty and gratitude makes Lady Ferguson, Lady Ferguson. Through life’s ups and downs to include rejection, failure, and setbacks, I’ve learned to be content in whatever state I find myself. I’ve learned to trust God no matter what the situation looks like. I am a supporter and love to see others win.

Please share a little about your book, “Overcoming Adversity, Pushing Past the Painâ€.
Lady Ferguson: This special book was given in a vision from God to collaborate in writing testimonies that would transform a nation. This book of personal testimonies will enlighten, inspire, encourage, teach, and motivate you to push beyond those difficult times and trust God during it all. Wherever you find yourself in life’s journey, may you realize that you too can Overcome it all. Eight amazing women, better known as “A Chosen Generation,†we share with the world our testimonies and how the power of God healed, delivered and freed us from the yolk of bondage. We were able to Overcome and win in victory no matter what it looks like. We must push past the pain and know that God is able to able to do all things. As a result of this book, a movement ensued; OVERCOMER#. The #.†stands for it is finished, no questions asked. We have OVERCOME period, the end, no more questions asked and that settles it. The definition here of an OVERCOMER is to gain superiority; to be victorious.
Fancy: What Inspired it?
Lady Ferguson: I was inspired by one of my co-authors to write this amazing testimonial. Her story was so heartbreaking yet full of love and the power of God. You’ll have to get the book and read the testimonies for yourself. This one story encouraged me to gather a group of women who had too, experienced a time of turmoil and devastation in their lives. And now we share with the world how God can heal the brokenhearted, raise the dead, heal the sick, and deliver us all. I pray one may read and be blessed by these testimonies and learn how to OVERCOME it all.
Fancy: Do you ever feel the pressure of expectations as a First Lady, and how do you combat it?
Lady Ferguson: To be honest, I hate being called First Lady. I do feel the pressure of what others expect or believe a First Lady should look like, dress like, speak like etc. I find myself not even sharing with others who I am. I’ve adopted this policy in my life that if they don’t ask, I won’t tell. It’s not that I don’t welcome respect and honor where it’s due, it’s just that I refuse to be put up on a pedestal of man’s expectations of me. I reverence God too much and feel that we are all equal in His sight. Further, God is still developing my character and I must remain humble and meek, but not weak.
Fancy: I see you are also a financial aid and college mentoring coach. As the new school year is beginning, do you have any tips for students and/or parents?
Lady Ferguson: Why of course. Grade school students (Pre-K through 12th grade) – Parents please consider starting a college fund for your children so that when they choose and are accepted into college, (if they do not obtain a full-ride – full scholarship), their education will be paid in full. Student loans are not bad, but it cost way too much to obtain a degree nowadays. Only obtain a student loan when there is no other alternative. Student loans are investments into our educational future, however; they tend to keep us bound and enslaved for many years.
College students, you must realize that this is not a game. Playtime is over. Take your education seriously and study, study, study. Get a real education and not just cram to pass a test or class. Get into PIDEA, deep thinking, and deep learning, where you can make a difference in the world with your skills and knowledge. Should you need further guidance outside of your school or family, I am available to help guide you through the process.
Fancy: Do you have any upcoming projects or events that you care to share?
Lady Ferguson: Recently I had a book signing Holiday Inn in Crystal City, Virginia and we hosted our annual Women’s Night of Worship at Christ Creative Baptist Church. Also, we are in the process of Launching a BLING business where we will be able to make and provide those BLING tee shirts, hats, scarfs, gloves, handbags, etc. No job is too large or small.
