When the President Serves “Hamberders”

In the age of eating and being healthy, what kind of president serves a national championship winning football team fast food? Apparently the American kind. The other night Donald Trump served what has been called a “fast food siesta” to Clemson University players.

Obviously Twitterverse went in on Trump for this, as well as others on other social media platforms, joking that the players couldn’t even get enough sauce with their cold or re-warmed food, while also noting President Obama had all the sauce while in the White House, but I can’t help but have hella opinions and questions.

For starters, if I were a player, I would be seriously disappointed to travel to DC for some doggone McDonald’s or any fast food for that matter. This is a meal team parents or the school administration could have put together, not something presented by a president that says “honor”.

Video has surfaced of one player stating “I thought this was a joke” as he walked around the buffet style setup served on silver platters along with the Beauty and the Beast candles (Twitter joke).

While Trump joked about Melania making salads for the dinner, I can’t help but wonder where was Melania when he thought of this dumb idea. What kind of a “rider” really allows their man to go out looking so cheap and tacky?  Did she think this did not reflect on her as well?

Where were any of Donnie’s friends? I’m beginning to think Trump already has an invisible wall built around himself to have never considered that this would not go over well. I would say his team needs to be fired but being that there are already so many federal workers working without pay or not working at all, on top of there being vacant essential positions within the government, I guess it’s best he keeps them around.

I mean we are talking athletes here… Though not professional, for many of them, that is their end goal. Why would anyone think they want to subject their bodies to such garbage when it is their bodies that will make them their money? I don’t care if it is a onetime thing.

Even sadder, Trump seemed to almost be boasting about paying for the food himself. The businessowner in me is wondering why in the world Trump didn’t use one of his businesses, like Trump Towers as a sponsor for the event, so they could have a bigger budget.

I’m pretty sure there are some DC catering companies still operating in the midst of the shutdown, even if it were last minute.

The history of sports teams visiting the White House dates back to President Andrew Johnson inviting the Brooklyn Atlantics and Washington Nationals, which are both amateur clubs, on August 30, 1865, but it was President Ronald Reagan who made the tradition more like a  regular occurrence in 1987.

One would think there is something wrote in the presidents book that tells how to handle such situations, but I guess not.

Furthermore, Trump is continuously roll back more of the Obama’s legacy, as this goes against everything the Let’s Move America and Health Eating initiatives stood for; even the Affordable Health Care Act included plans for prevention.

To think this fast food fiesta was a honorary dinner fit for a champion is by far one of the dumbest things this man has done. Yet it is also one of his most transparent and blatant acts.

As most people with any time of heart, emotion, sentiment or whatever you may want to call it know it is not so much about how much the gift cost, but rather the effort and feeling that went into the gift.

Let’s not forget this man paid $150,000 to Karen McDougal and $130,000 to Stormy Daniels to silence them about their affairs with him, according to court documents and testimonies. This “fast food feast” is said to cost $3,000 according to Fox News.

The fact that Trump thought this is threw together shingdig was honorary, says a great a deal about him as a president and as a a man, he’s trash. Because only a pretentious prick would think this would pass off as an honor.

If the president is willing to feed that to a team he invited to the White House as an honor, whose to say what would be in those welfare food boxes he proposed.

Fortunately, Migos member Quavo would like to show the Clemson Tigers how it’s done and has invited them to Quality Control headquarters to honor them, but it’s said that may be a violation of NCAA rules.

On the flip side the Clemson State Tigers will have an interesting story to one day share with new friends and associates… should Trump’s presidency allow us the privilege of making it to the distant future.

Oh, and pizza derived from Italy.
