One of the things I want to accomplish in life is to write my book. I’ve always loved a good book; I love that a book can transfer you to a whole different world. The Harry Potter series is my all-time favorite book series and movie series. J.K. Rowling really took the Harry Potter world and ran with it. Hogwarts, magic, witches, warlocks, and everything else. I loved it.
A lot of people ask me why I want to be an author. The simple answer is because I’ve always loved to read. Ever since I learned to read, a book was always in my hand. I grew to like writing, and I just thought I would write the best fiction book ever one day. My imagination is wild. I have book ideas running through my mind all day. I love murder mystery books and fantasy books. I would love to create a world like J.K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer.
My only problem is the actual writing part. No matter how many books I read, I have no idea how to actually write a book. I guess every author has said that, though. Where do I start? How do I get the characters together? What will the plot be? Should I make it suspenseful or straight to the point? So many questions come to my mind when I think about writing the next great fantasy fiction novel.
One author that I recently came across is Sarah J. Maas. I am currently reading her Throne of Glass series, and I love it. I don’t know how I missed Ms. Maas, but baby, she is the girl for you if you love fantasy fiction. While reading this series, it has all of the elements I like in books. It’s fiction, fantasy, and it’s a little murdery. That is the kind of book I want to write. I want to write a book where people will fall in love with the characters and just can’t wait for the next book to be released.
I’ve wanted to do so many things in life, and they have constantly changed, but the one thing that has never changed was the urge to be an author. I’ve wanted to be a doctor, nurse, social worker, and lawyer. I’ve changed my mind each time, but being an author was always a constant. I don’t know why; it’s just something I know I want to do before leaving this earth. My biggest problem is questioning myself and the negative thoughts I have about. What if the book sucks? What if no one likes it? Hell, what if I can’t get it published? Sometimes in life, you have to take risks and go for it. Get out of your comfort zone. So what if only 100 people purchase my future book and some people don’t like it. I still did it. I accomplished the one goal that has always stuck with me. With that being said, yall be on the lookout for my fantasy fiction novel in the near future.
